I cannot begin to express how much I enjoyed Jim Morris' personal reflection on his time spent in Vietnam as a Green Beret in the early years of the war, as his account truly hits the mark. A vast conflict, affecting hundreds of thousands of lives, where the worst enemy was often misconception and the anally retentive "red tape syndrome" so indicative of any large military machi. Why did I wait. Torch Why did I wait so long to read this book. Some of the information gleaned from this book was old news. Senior leaders that were more interested in furthering their own worn out careers than fighting a war, shocking. The fact that the Vietnamese & the montanyards didn't get along, another barn burner. However the fact that the yards wanted their own country is something I had nev. Awesome Hans Great read. CPT Morris gave such an amazing account of what life was like as an early Green Beret. A definite must-read for any current or aspiring SF guys. Thank you for sharing your experiences, sir.
