DESCRIPTION:

I lost my head over this book I missed the Kimbell Museum exhibit and catalog of Le Brun's work in 1982, but this book is great compensation. The reproductions are beautiful, as are the essays. I'm not an art fanatic, but I am interested in the period. Le Brun knew everyone, and it seems as if she painted everyone. Check out her work. You'll almost feel like you can touch her subjects. The b. "The best book on an artist that I've ever seen & read" according to Another reader. I am an artist and I have quite a large collection of books on various artists and techniques. This is the best book on an artist that I have ever seen. I have a very short attention span but I continue returning to the book over and over! The images in the book are of good quality and there are clear descriptions of most of the paintings on the opposite page w. Finally Recognition for this great artist !!! Excellent exhibition book from the recent MET show on the artist. Much less expensive than at the MET store even with the member discount. The Book is very well done. Our world wide team that spent the last 20 years collecting portrait images and sitter information highly recommend the book . Visit the Vigee Le Brun website at []
