Just a warning about historical accuracy There was a NO Scottish 'uprising' against Richard since he did not rule in Scotland. Although the Scottish King, Robert II, had been a prisoner of the English, and the English continued their incursions into Scotland, they could not by any means claim it as their territory. Richard I did have an army make a rather pathetic invasion that quickly withdrew, and they had an army thoroughly defeated at the Battle of Otterburn. But to have an uprising, you have to rule there. The head 'Scottish' thug was named McGuffin - which I assume was su. lk said Keep going!. I loved this book as I have loved all the of the Crispin Guest novels.Watching Jack grow up throughout the years has been wonderful and at the same time Crispin is growing as a person and he is seeing the world through new eyes. The historical references are making me read up on true history - something I have never been inclined to do in the past. Please continue this wonderful series - it is such a great mix of mystery and history!Thank you Jeri Western!-Linda King. "Not my favorite episode" according to J. Williams. I love this series but this one was more like a Marks Brothers movie than Mystery . Some parts were good even funny but the usual depth was not there .The maturity of the developing into manhood Jack was interesting but the main story was a bit underdeveloped.
