adonees said Nice & awosome!. Thanks a lot its a great book but me as a native speaker of Qaraqosh dialect the phonology chapter missed lot of things the book was mainly about syntax , Grammar and structure in our language also it has a good glossary of terms and verbs, moreover the book was very intresting but it should focus more on phonology in our dialect. Thanks Geoffry KhanThanks aozora
The grammar is based on extensive fieldwork carried out among native speakers. It is one of the most archaic dialects in group known as North Eastern Neo-Aramaic that contains many features that have not been found in other dialects. These include several lexical elements that are not found in earlier literary Aramaic but can be traced back to Akkadian and Sumerian. This Aramaic dialect has never been described before. Knowledge of the dialect is now being lost among the younger generations, so this volume is an important linguistic record.. Containing a detailed grammatical description of the spoken Aramaic dialect of the Christian community
'" scholars of Neo-Aramaic will be delighted with this second monograph of Neo-Aramaic studies by Khan "' Yona Sabar, "Journal of the American Oriental Society," 2004."
