I didn't really get that it is a "prepper" book just from reading the sample, but I bought it anyway as it kept my attention. The story has a straightforward plot, and the story is good enough that it is not really obvious that the book is a reference on how to prepare, and a forecast of how things might go after a big event.The characters are somewhat formulaic, and you can see how each of them is going to play out a long way off. Still, it's no worse than anything on television, and a lot better than some. I did find that the repeated references to specific products and websites got old, but I s. good read I love Jerry D Young stories!! It has the right balance to light and heavy as in it's not too fluffy but it's not going to give you nightmares. One thing about the stories is that the person always has a bunch of money and knowledge. Hhmm I hope if something ever happens then I am with someone like that cause I have neither lol
