I am a fan of Ms. Egan's first two novels, The Invisible Circus and Look at Me, so I expected to enjoy this third novel and I did. However, I would have enjoyed this book much more, I think, had she stuck to the plot generated by the title of the book. The story that takes place at the medieval castle with the keep towering over all is an excellent one. Howard, a wealthy. Hard to put down This novel by Jennifer Egan was a good read--stayed up to finish it. A strange, gothic sort of story. You keep thinking you know how things are going to go, but you don't. At the beginning I expected it to be just creepy, but finally it was almost anti-creepy.Look forward to reading more of Egan's stuff.
