Having read and very much enjoyed the first book, I got this and managed to get to read it before my daughter knew I had it.Starting where the initial book finished, this story does very well to continue the ever-increasing problems of the ever opressed Harry Pigg and his hapless 'team' as they take on a new mystery and go in search of the missin. Clever and well written D.E. The trick with this sort of genre is to write a story that permits the reader to effortlessly suspend belief and become engaged in a mystery which invokes characters from numerous fairy tales and fables. Few writers could pull this off. Mr. Burke does in each of his books so far. I have read this and the first one and look forward to the third in. I got the first in this series because it was recommended based on my adoration of Jasper Fforde's Nursery Crime series (which I wish he'd write more of), but this series has less depth and the writing isn't up to Fforde's standard.
