"Five Stars" according to Joan M. Adorable story!. Great pictures but uninteresting story I was looking for a book to read to my granddaughter's 2nd grade class and wanted one that I thought would appeal to both boys and girls. I saw that this book had some good reviews so I ordered it. I have to say I was disappointed. The pictures are excellent but the story is lacking. The beginning and middle of the story are OK but the end is, in my opinion, very anticlimactic. Some reviewers said it was funny but I didn't find much humor. I am a retired primary teacher and have read zillions of books in my time, but this one just didn't make the grade for me.. AWESOME Library Girl Student's will love this tall tale of a little boy who is addicted to bubblegum and almost meets his fate while walking in the dessert one afternoon. But thanks to the spare bubblegum that he keeps in the pocket of his shirt the rattlesnake meets his fate instead. This books leaves your audience sitting at the edge of their seats literally. With one question Was this really real?
