It made me wonder if there was a book on this subject and I located this book.This book is a poignant story of loss reflected through archival i. A long-overlooked niche subject russman Mr. Graham deftly handles balancing presenting historical facts with deep feeling for his subjects. His writing creates an emotional "hook" that draws in the reader and keeps his or her interest throughout the entire book. He presents the mothers as strong and dignified; worthy. Excellent and well researched book! This is THE definitive work on the little known Gold Star Mothers Pilgrimages. Mr. Graham has done an excellent job of covering all aspects of this unusual event in U.S. history.
