It’s too long for one, its 600+ pages probably a good 100-150 pages too many. Simmons has fallen too in love with his research, slowing the book in multiple places. He drops one of the more intriguing storylines a . Skip it I purchased the book because I was intrigued by the existential subplot in which Holmes wonders whether he is a fictional character. The author does little to develop this vein of the "story" and I don't think he bothered to do any research, which would've been a good idea. My god man, you can wr. M.
