Delightful Tales Larry, true dedicated reader A Chinese Wonder Book Norman Hinsdale PitmanI have always been fascinated with Asian folk tales. This is an excellent example of the genre. The book contains a good mixture of happy, sad, love, hate, fun, mystery and delightful stories. If you like the type you will love this book. "Wonder" Book For a "Wonder Book" this volume was very bland. There were one or two stories that I somewhat enjoyed, while the rest I just sort of endured because they weren't bad enough to stop reading.Themes include filial piety, being nice to beggars, Filial Piety, andrealistic-feeling dreams. Oh, also FILIAL PIETY.Because of subtle Euro-cent. Morgans said Yes and No. My 6 year old son loved hearing these stories. I am entirely ok with him hearing them. But the cautious parent should be aware that this book does discuss: Other gods, murder and death, and the beginning of foot binding. That last one was real fun to explain. Overall we enjoyed the book and there weren't any major technical errors.
