Beautiful pocket book I have purchased this book three times now - it makes such a perfect gift. Each page has a line of poetry or two, with Hassan Massoudy's characteristic sweeping painted calligraphy on the opposite page. Each painting evokes some visual aspect of the poetry - whether a tree, a seed, water, a flower, or storm. The illustrations are so vibrant (beautifully printed) and add new dimension and meaning to the verses. Visually, aesthetically, and spiritually nourishing, it's an exquisite pairing of masterful artwork (by one of the world's greatest contemporary calligraphers) with evocative brief texts drawn from poetry, proverbs, and other sources. I found it in a museum shop, bought it as a gift, and am about to order multiple copies from Amazon -- several to give as gifts in the future and one for myself. Although it's a paperback, it was obviously produced with great care; the paper quality is excellent and the colors are beautiful and vivid.
