The calligraphic forms of the poems are just beautiful! A beautiful keepsake kind of book to have Zaakiyyah The calligraphic forms of the poems are just beautiful! A beautiful keepsake kind of book to have. Also good for those wanting to practice their Arabic calligraphy. Lovely examples.. Beautiful pocket book I have purchased this book three times now - it makes such a perfect gift. Each page has a line of poetry or two, with Hassan Massoudy's characteristic sweeping painted calligraphy on the opposite page. Each painting evokes some visual aspect of the poetry - whether a tree, a seed, water, a flower, or storm. The illustrations are so vibrant (beautifully printed) and add new dimension and meaning to the verses. A most special book Penelope Manzi This unique little book is a treasure. Visually, aesthetically, and spiritually nourishing, it's an exquisite pairing of masterful artwork (by one of the world's greatest contemporary calligraphers) with evocative brief texts drawn from poetry, proverbs, and other sources. I found it in a museum shop, bought it as a gift, and am about to order multiple copies from Amazon -- several to give as gifts in the future and one for myself. Although it's a paperback, it was obviously produced with great care; the paper quality is excellent and the colors are beautiful and vivid.
