Well known for his musicals "Godspell", "Pippin", and "Wicked" and for animated films "Pocahontas" and "The Prince of Egypt", Stephen Schwartz's music has been a favorite of mine.The story is about a new baker and his wife who just arrived in a small town. The wife is unfaithful, falling in love with another, making the baker lose his want to live.The. Exactly as described I wanted the music for meadowlark, and got it, along with some other lovely songs as well. I'm not familiar with th bakers wife musical, and this has encouraged me to find out more.. M. Hagan said Beautiful songs, nice book. Meadowlark doe not have chord notations. Songs are in difficult keys to play, but worth the effort. Beautiful songs, nice book. A hidden gem of a musical.
