A wonderful read, with elephants! This is the first book I've read by Joni Picoult, and only because a friend kept insisting I read it. I'm so glad she did, because this book is amazing. The story is told by several characters, and is centered around the study of elephants in the wild and in captivity. The characters are quirky and opinionated, and all have an interesting tale to tell, which leads to one of the most surprising endings I've ever read. I never saw it coming. I also learned a lot about elephants, which for me are one . Cynthia Lee said Song of the Humpback Whale. I have been a Jodi Picoult junkie forever and adore all her books as I always learn so much about whatever subject she is writing about. This book is just not as much about whales as it is about childhood abuse. There were not the normal twists and turns that keep one guessing..
