SoccerDad said Not really very useful. This book is okay, but it falls into the trap of trying to cover too many subjects in too little space. It becomes too general to actually use. It also spends way too much time on general construction principles (drywall, framing, electrical, plumbing) that have too little coverage to actually be useful. For example, if you really have no electrical experience and use this book as your guide to wire a basement, it will be a disaster. You really should hire someone or buy a book specifically on wiring. Same with drywall. For example, there are 6 pages on doing. Old, outdated, and no longer up to code Anonymous This book is old, out dated, and something are not up to code anymore such as showing using fiberglass bats for insulating your walls.
