I found the prose largely impossible to comprehend. To this day I could not tell you what the story was about, or what the arc of the plot was. And this is shocking, as I do read some pretty arcane stuff.. wiredweird said Like the series, but. Lessing's criticism of the twentieth century is pointed, somtimes funny, and ultimately hopeful.
