A Customer said Really stretching to make this a book. The good ideas in this book would have made a great magazine article, but that's about it. I have all of the other Shabby Chic books and I love them, but this one was a big letdown. I couldn't believe there was a chapter on how to decorate your kid's lunch! Another thing--the publisher calls this a hardcover, but it's not.. "the shabby chic of gift giving" according to Veronica Johnson. I really enjoyed the clever crafts that are so simple even I am able to use some of these ideas.. "Inspirational!" according to Renate A. Wolfe. I adore this book. The photographs and beautifully presented ideas have been a great spring board for some of the most successful gifts I have given loved ones. Some reviewers have complained that there were not enough good ideas and that some ideas were tacky. One reviewer complained because Ms. Ashwell included ideas on making children's school lunches special. I think that these reviewers are missing the point of the book.
