She dictated the story to me that night. Lily has been reading since before she was two, having been able to recognize over 150 words by nineteen months. At 19 months, she could also say and read the entire alphabet, could count to 20 and knew most colours and many shapes. There was also much debate as to whether the sheep was a boy or a girl. We have been told Lily is gifted, but I feel her only true gift is the amazing dedication of her devoted mother Kim, who spent hours with Lily doing all sorts of things she loved, including reading books, drawing and flashcards. She was particular about correcting a few things as I typed. Lily told me she wanted to write a book after a bedtime story one night and an in-depth discussion about the difference between an author and an illustrator. This is not a literary masterpiece.
