Good book for starting with zero knowledge on the subject. Does a good job of covering the very basics of modern VB in the .Net environment. End of chapter exercises are brief and not at all daunting. After reading this book I'd say you'll have a good grasp of how things work but will need to do additional reading to really figure out how to start writing your own apps.
