DESCRIPTION:
"A Decent Place to Start" according to Kevin Pound. This book is more of a guide to the Rolls-Royce and Bentley range than an actual collector's guide. There is a comprehensive history of the development of the 1980-98 series, with plenty of photos and information tables. I was disappointed that there is very little "guidance" to this guide. One would expect that a book claiming to be a "Collector's Guide" would offer more on what to look for in terms of buying a 20-plus-year Proper Motor Car, including what model years, if any, to avoid, and how to evaluate the physical and mechanical well-being of the cars. Vivek Gupta said Very Informative on a Very Focused Niche!. This book was very thorough had great detail on the history of this generation of car that it covered, and it had very specific model & manufacturing information. The book did not go into detail as far as mechanics go, as that was not its intention. It also did not have as many color prints of vehicles, as I would've liked, but it was definitely a 5-Star book. I recently purchased a 1981 Rolls-Royce Silver Spirit, and I bought this book when searching for any books that had more information about the car. This book was a very entertaining companion to the vehicle. :)
Robsons text is very good and the pictures are even better. Old Cars Weekly.. Detailed model-by-model descriptions, technical and restoration information, and invaluable reference data
