"I would love to see a sequel to this book" according to Nell B. Gibson. I found the main character riveting. I could not put the book down. When I was finished I had so many questions about Carmen and Mantel and Carmen's baby as well as about the woman who Carmen paid to take care of her. I would love to see a sequel to this book!. kasmcallen said Definitely a page-turner.. I found this book difficult to sit down. It was definitely a page-turner and has a few twists and turns, which keep you wanting more. It was an easy read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.. Honey said My best new author. Gayle Ewing is one of the best new authors I've read in quite sometime. I couldn't stop reading this book and I'm looking for the sequel. I want to know what happens to Carmen.
After being discovered having a torrid affair, she snaps and kills her husband and her step-son.. She substitutes things and sex, for love and acceptance. As a result she never learns what her real principal assets are as a woman. Carmen Monroe is a successful accountant who hides her past in order to survive in the business world. Always befriended because of how she looks rather than who she is
