D. Miller said People of the Weeping Eye. I own and have re-read almost everything W. Michael & Kathleen O'Neal Gear have written, and I do not think either one or both together are capable of writing a bad book. I think they're incredible. This book continues their 'mound' culture books that began with People of the River.. "No crying here!" according to Finder of All Things. Another great installment of the Gear's series on early American Indian life. I absolutely love these books. It is so fascinating learning about Contraries and their effect on tribal life. It was also a pleasure to read about sports and their role in resolving conflicts.. "People of the Weeping Eye" according to Barbara. These ancient history books by the Gears are wonderful. I feel like I am actually living in that prehistoric time. I have read all of their books in this series so far in paperback and recommend them to anyone interested in our country's actual past history.
