good read Have read Hornfischer, Leckie, Sledge, Phillips and this one is right up there. Certainly a different viewpoint from the enlisted man or historian; good read.. Ben Kuhn said A general's staff view of the battle. Being more of a fan of the actual combatants view of the battle i was not interested in this viewpoint from a man who did no fighting, only planning.
