DESCRIPTION:

Fittingly for this sort of bucolic idyll, Will and Ellie, despite their rudimentary educations, love books and develop a special friendship with wise old Miss Beasley, the local librarian. From Publishers Weekly Fans of Spencer's bestselling paperback historical novels ( Vows ; The Gamble ) will be pleased by her hardcover debut, again demonstrating her gift for telling a satisfyingly conventional romantic tale in fresh, sprightly prose. Alas, brazen and rapacious Lula Peak, the town floozie, sets her sights on Will, waylaying him in the library; meantimes, Lula is blackmailing her lover, the cowardly Harley Overmire, who is no friend of Will. In the small town of Whitney, Ga., at the beginning of WW II, he answers the advertisement of a pregnant widow and mother

I love you, 'Wiw' ! Laurie Sometimes after reading a great book, it us hard to move on to the next one because too often you are disappointed. After finishing The Bronze Horseman trilogy, I didn't know how I could find another gripping tale. I started searching lists of "Top 5 Romances". I came across this title multiple times and decided to try it. Morning Glory grabbed me and kept me hooked. The story is well written and the characters are endearing. This is a sweet love story that keeps you turning pages.. One of my favorite novels -- romance or otherwise Michelle R Lavryle Spencer's skill in writing is different from the strong suits of a lot of other romance novelists. She never wrote larger-than-life characters or relationships based on lust, and that made you wonder at the end if the people were so blinded by hormones to see they really hated one another. Her strength was in writing people who felt like people you might know. You care about them and want them to find love, because you believe they deserve that love.Never is this strength on greater display than in Morning Glory. It's the story of two lo. Fantastic!!! Bkreader122 I read this book years ago & am not one to retread books; however, when I came across it recently I decided to read it. It was as good, if not better, the second time. For me, it is one of the all-time greats!!
