"Dropped into the middle" according to lore. I began reading this volume and felt dropped in to the middle of a story. The couples were established and counting on each other for help and support that seemed a bit much for characters I just met and didn't understand. So, I did some investigating.As suspected, there is an earlier volume to the "Millenium Darling" series as well as a sequel. Why June decided to start with this middle volume, I can't begin to fathom. A chart explanation of the various character relationships doesn't come until after the first story, but even after finding it, I didn't feel . Disjointed I bought the paperback version of this manga. The artwork is awesome, the characters were cute and funny but the story was so disjointed. I got hte impression, that the characters that kept dropping thru the disjointed story, were from perhaps another volume? perhaps like playboy blues series has cameos of other couples in different volumes. This story was broken and disjointed because of this though. I truly had a hard time following who was who and what the story was suppose to be. Worth the artwork and the the [ perhaps unintentional?] humor. I did really f. C. T. Spruell said Not the beginning. If you've watched the yaoi sekimatsu darling, then this might make sense. For those of you beginning with this book, good luck. I had brought it a while ago and decided that I was gonna read it again.This book reminded of the very first yaoi I brought, Thou dost something or another. It made me mad cause I couldn't fallow it. Now I did watch sekimatsu darling, but a while ago. Too long to make any connection.My advice, watch the ova first, then buy this manga.
Sakamoto's best friend, Yoichiro Takasugi, warns him that if he keeps acting so selfish and arrogant, "Someday Katsura-kun will dump you"! But Sakamoto’s darling couldn’t possibly do that, right?
