Working in isolation, leaders in education have historically been required to focus on time-consuming compliance tasks. Kirtman proposes a refreshing and practical view of the leader as the driver for educational reform. Kirtman's approach does not eschew the importance of compliance but his take emphasizes the missing piece of educational leadership: leaders must be Change Agents with a Vision.Kirtman's Se. Great book- misleading title (not so much about team development) Cheryl A in California Great book. Very practical in terms of considerations for individual leadership at school site or district level. I find many resources I here that I will use in working with site & district leaders. However, the title is a bit misleading. The leadership practices that an individual would take are the focus and, in that way, there I'd encouragement of capacity building and teams. However, it is not a direct resource book for leadership team development, which is what I was seeking and what the book titled implied. Great re.
