JMoran said Quite a nice surprise.. I was a big fan of Mitch Mitchell in my early drumming years, but for me, both him and Keith Moon were always a little harder to learn by ear than, say, John Bonham. Mitch had a knack for pretty loose fills and a swampy, in-between feel that I didn't understand clearly until years down the line.To come across this book, bring it home and give it a try just for the fun of it was a nice surprise! The transcriptions are clearly written and, what I call, accurate enough. I personally don't like them Broadway Show-like, with absolutely every single detail in there, as it mostly will take away the importance of LISTEN. "Poor Notation" according to Matthew A. Burwell. I was very excited to see this book come out and bought it immediately. Unfortunately it does not live up to the potential it could be. The notation is poor and some of it is inaccurate. I don't understand why these companies can't codify their notation.If you're able you'd be better off transcribing these tunes yourself.
