Excellent Introduction to Horses Christine M. Sugg I bought this for my nine-year-old grandson who will be taking his first riding lessons this summer. I believe this book is an excellent introduction to horses. It covers basic history, anatomy, color descriptions, breeds, and purposes in easy-to-understand language.
