DESCRIPTION:
Imagine if a few men in every church decided to each mentor one boy what an impact it would make on that generation, on our cities, communities and neighborhoods. A large percentage of our boys and young men are growing up without fathers in the home. Finally a book that deals with the fatherless crisis we have in America and what the church can do to make a difference. In Fatherless America and the Church, Sam Mehaffie believes that if churches engage in even a small way to address the problem of fatherlessness, many boys and young men could avoid becoming sad statistics. Whom do they look to as role models? Who teaches them how to be good husbands, fathers and workers? Who is there to help them with everyday choices? The church should be a vital part of a ministry that reaches out
More crime plagued kids, more homosexuality, more promiscuity, more hopelessness, and more suicide. I knew most of this already but it would have been nice to read the statistics of how many fatherless boys are in trouble, and in prisons. The fatherless boys of the world also are mostly motherless as well since the mother usually has to hold down a job so these kids are on their own most of the time. There were quite a few boys who developed a homosexual orientation during the war since they never had a father around during the war and were under the influence of a mother only. Today most kids will be fatherless as the lawyers have got their wish to be able to divorce their wives for no reason at all and take up with a 20 year younger mod. Gets to the bottom line.
