Every December, my mom took us to "the city" to see the department store windows. One day, in the window of a very fancy shop on Fifth Avenue, I saw a Faberge egg. I must admit, after seeing the many works of art by Faberge created for the Russian royal family, these seem a bit tame by comparison.
