Christs sacrifice on the Cross saved mankind In the last words of Christ on the Cross I find the summary of the whole history of salvation and our relation with God. His forgiveness of sin, gift of His Holy Mother and thirst for all souls is vividly described. The brutality of the crucifixion displays the awfulness of sin and the price paid out of love and mercy by Jesus for its expiation.
