Timely, authentic and practical As a management consultant heavily engaged in leadership development work I read a lot of such books. Marlier and Parker's timely book is outstanding and should be read by all those interested in management. It provides hope for all those that despair of the value-destroying behaviors so manifest in current management practice.Containing just the minimum necessary theoretical framework, the book is above all the authentic reflection of what really happens inside organ. Ivo Knottnerus said Inspiring, concise and refreshing book on engaging Leadership. I found this book `Engaging Leadership' written by Didier Marlier and Chris Parker very refreshing and interesting. It is clearly different from other leadership books - and I have read quite a few - it is practical, evidence based from real life cases, and above all VERY recognisable and oh so true. You will immediately see yourself sitting in on many of the occasions Marlier and Parker are describing and thinking `oh yes'.In chapter 1 they clearly describe the need . Practical advice to modern leaders "Strategies are [] no longer a competitive advantage in today and tomorrow's knowledge economy and global, interlinked 'flat world'. The Holy Grail [] is about energy, passion, flexibility, adaptability, and similar qualities." This quote from "Engaging Leadership" well summarizes the contents of the book.
