"It's a wonderful read which left me champing at the bit for" according to Linkmeister. If my reading is correct, this book continues the description of Korval's assimilation into its new planetary home of Surebleak following Necessity's Child. As such, it's got no space battles, but it's got smaller conflicts on the planet's surface, along with new alliances with the Kompani, a different group from those the Bosses have been ruling. It provided more info about one of the saga's principal character's most recent wif. The writing was high quality and very descriptive. The characters and the action were realistic and true to life even in the science fiction setting. The book is in a series and I would suggest starting with 'Agent of Change' to fully appreciate 'Dragon in Exile'. I would recommend the book to any one who enjoys space opera.
