Dr. Eli St. John returns home seventeen years after leaving to substitute at his father’s clinic while he recovers from a health scare. Nora Parker is a veterinarian who was his high school sweetheart and his best friend’s widow. He wanted to live big as that’s why he left after high school while she wanted to continue living the small town life. It was a place where she felt grounded after constantly being uprooted as a child. From the moment they meet. Sensitive dialogue, sweet romance, but VERY predictable storyline Rating: 3.5 stars. Minimal sexual content.Mostly stand alone read, but some loose threads. 1st in St. Johns of Stonerock series.NICE READ! Engaging storyline, emotionally perceptive characters, good supporting cast, strong family theme, sweet romance, and the dialogue is surprisingly honest, sensitive, and natural. HOWEVER, the angst-think is repetitive to the point of annoyance, the heroine's overly contrived back story seems tormented, and blaming the hero for NOT tattling on her dead husband is just bizarre, all of which detract slightly from the book.THIS STORY reunites fo.
