"Four Stars" according to A. Balcer. Finally, someone understands and can write the third doctor. Thank you Alastair Reynolds.. Two Greats together. BelD As a fan of both Reynolds and Doctor Who I was eagerly anticipating this ever since it was announced months ago. I wouldn't say I had misgivings per se, but I was curious how Reynolds, a notorious hard science fiction writer, would do in the Whoniverse with the Doctor most famous for reversing the polarity of the neutron flow. Especially since the one other Who novel I've read by a celeb author was (imho) terrible. . A perfect read Alastair Reynolds does an amazing job conjuring up the old TARDIS crew of the Pertwee years in this novel. In reading the book, I can easily hear Jon Pertwee, Katy Manning, Roger Delgado, Nicholas Courtney, Richard Franklin and John Levene in my mind -- the dialogue is nearly spot on (except for a bravissimo excursion into technobabble between The Doctor and The Master that probably would have more at home in Star T
"Beevers as both narrator and evil genius is thoroughly believable He switches easily between the characters and presents an immersive experience of 'Harvest Of Time'" sfcrowsnest "The audio release uses the vocal talents of Geoffrey Beevers, who played a later incarnation of the Master, and he performs the job with aplomb Highly recommended." huntspost
