The first volume in this series I was not 100% satisfied with T. LaPonte The first half of volume 8 is a total bore. The tension and suspense that I have come to expect from this series was completely lacking in the front half of the book (as well as in the back half of volume 7, but I won't get into that), despite the stakes for the Yagami family being high from the cliffhanger at the end of the last volume. It just wasn't that gripping to question whether Soichiro was going to hand the book over or not. On top of this was the awful use of a lame plot device about a third of the way in. A missle that can neither be . "Excellent story" according to Amazon Customer. Excellent story. One of the best volume set people of all ages may enyoy. M. Kelly Manga did a terrific job in putting together the Death Note volumes. They are so well written and are a lot of fun. I don't think I will read a standard book the same again. I highly recommened the books to anybody probally thirteen and over. I will own all of the volumes when all is said and done. One volume just gets better than the next.

Will Light's quick wits be a match for this new challenge, or will he be forced to choose between Kira's ambitions and his own family's lives?
