mixed bag There is lots of info in here, and fairly well explained. The how-to's for CCSS expectations are well laid out.Lots of philosophy, too - rather scary when you look at the actual words the authors use- and consider they picked those words specifically, so they mean what they say, not what a reader might think the author "must mean". Great Book! This is a great guide book for helping your PLC take action to put in place the Common Core State Standards. There are links to many very useful resources cited that provide the framework to get things started.. Some value; lots of repetition Retired Educator The book is good at describing what needs to happen in a PLC setting; it is WAY to wordy, though, for all of us who have to implement Common Core and learn how a PLC works. I would love to have the Cliff Notes on this rather than have to read the entire thingespecially since it recommends 16-book series from NCTM and other books from other sources that appear to be necessary to do a good job. Please.we are teachers, not students working on PhDs (at least for the most part)!
