a good foundation Kay S Every beginning ESL teacher should start w/this to motivate them to really concentrate on correct pronunciation. I work w/ high intermediate Asian speakers who started studying English 10 yrs ago, and one is still not understood b/c he apparently wasn't taught the importance of correct stress in his pronunciation, hence his speech is somewhat muddled.. R. Schnell said Clear Speech from the Start. Illustrations that help the student understand how to place their tongue. Good pair work exercises. My students like this book.
