DESCRIPTION:
Karl Barth (1886-1968) is widely regarded as one of the most significant Christian theologians since the Reformation. His works include "Church Dogmatics" (14 vols.), the most influential work of theology in the twentieth century. He was a professor of theology at several universities in Germany and later taught in Switzerland.
Highly recommend in every Christians library. Mike Owens Classic! A little deeper and harder to read than some of the more modern writers like Thomas Talbott and Gregory MacDonald, but full of biblical truth that helps reveal Paul's message to the world that God will save everyone - ultimately - and for His glory! TheBVBs.com. Not for the "common man" Barth is not easy. He does not write directly for the masses, though what he writes is for the masses. He writes for preachers and theologians. The masses would be better benefit if the preachers took the time to consider Barth.. Tremendous insight into Christ, the Perfect God-Man uniting us with Godhead! I will most likely read this book again! Revelation of all Jesus accomplished, Adam being the foreshadow or type of Christ, that is, Adam fit into Jesus' plan, not the other way around, really unveils the perspective from God's point of view how gloriously confident He is in all that Christ has accomplished to redeem all that was lost in Adam!
Romans 5:5 the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Spirit furnished the Scriptural basis for the theology of grace and the sacraments, chiefly in relation to the word ekkechutai which in later versions is translated by is shed abroad but was rendered in the Vulgate by infusa est (was infused ).(Typographical errors above are due to OCR software and don't occur in the book.)About the PublisherForgotten Books is a publisher of historical writings, such as: Philosophy, Classics, Science, Religion, History, Folklore and Mythology.Forgotten Books' Classic Reprint Series utilizes the latest technology to regenerate facsimiles of historically important writings. It was largely through the influence of Augustine that certain of Paul sideas expressed in this part of his most powerful letter came to play a major role in the theology of Roman Catholicism and in that of the Protestant Reformation. The fifth chapter of the Epistle to the Romans, on which Barth here fixes his attention, has been of special importance in the history of Christian thought.
