Chinese Fairy Tales These stories are written in such a way that one is certain that the author is not an English-speaking person. They are a litle confusing at times and the abundance of typos adds to this confusion. The stories themselves are interesting and entertaining but it took a lot of concentration to actually get through the book.. Eh While these stories were interesting, they were extremely hard to follow. The stories use an overwhelming amount of pronouns and it is easy to lose track of who is speaking. Furthermore, the material is extremely condensed so you'll often find characters in three or four settings within the same paragraph. The grammatical errors are also rampant, which was a clear oversight by any competent editor.. "Some stories are not suitable for younger children." according to Amazon Customer. I cannot criticize the fairy tales themselves - if they are authntic they are what they are. Some of the stories are quite suitable for 5-7 year-olds but some of the stories contain violence directed on humans or animals. Some stories can be really disturbing. There are also some good nicely rounded-up bedtime stories.
