Kelly L. said Worth buying. This book is worth buying if your interested in giving carving golf balls a try. I would have given it 5 stars but I was a little disappointed that there were only two patterns in it. The book does how ever take you step by step from removing the cover to carving to staining the finished product should you wish. Head in one Amazon Customer It was very helpful I was able to follow the step by step instructions and come out with a pretty goofy face. It met my expectations. I would recommend this book to any one looking to try carving a Golf ball or even a face in a round object to give this book a go.. There are some good finished product photos to work from but the in Davey Jones There are some good finished product photos to work from but the in process photos are not done very well at all, it is very difficult to determine what cut the author is trying to make.

Have you ever wondered why golf balls act the way they do? Why the perfect swing leads to disaster with the ball wildly veering left or right, careening off three trees, two squirrels, and your golf partner before burying itself in a sand trap? Tom Wolfe knows and reveals all! Follow Tom step-by-step through the process of carving two of the evil spirits and tiny demons that reside in the black heart of every golf ball. Once the carving is complete, bring the demon to life with a staining technique. Every step is clearly explained and illustrated in color. The material within the golf ball is so easily carved, it is almost the equivalent of doodling. A color gallery shows both the finished projects and many additional carvings for further inspiration. Carvers with basic skills will enjoy the challenges and advanced carvers will be delighted by the details.
