DESCRIPTION:

From the Author It's common knowledge that severe child abuse has the potential to create deeply disturbed, if not dangerous, adults. But make no mistake, we are damaged goods, living anonymously among you, struggling daily to conceal our pasts and fit in, often by turning our anger and pain inward, thereby abusing only ourselves. Call Me Cockroach is my attempt, as an abuse survivor, to make people more aware of the devastating ways in which trauma inflicted during our children's formative years can manifest itself in their adult lives. . Our prisons, mental hospitals, and streets are filled with tragic stories like Tuesday Storm's. To everyone else, it's an honest glimpse into the tormented mind and troubled heart of a damaged woman determined to overcome the debilitating aftermath of a horrific childhood. . The experts say it's next to impossible to find the soul's light in a dark past like Tuesday's. And the thing about experts is--they're usually right. Call Me Cockroach is a chilling reminder of the unfortunate truth that no one survives the devastation of severe childhood trauma unscathed. She's doomed to suffer a lifetime of dep
