DESCRIPTION:

A not-so-simple introduction to the subject Delivered in question and answer format, this book tries to guide the reader through the maze of business intelligence, including data warehousing, BI cubes, ETL and other such esoterica. I wouldn't call it "simplified", but it is a pretty good introduction. The material is covered in enough detail to be useful, at the expense of losing the reader sometimes. In spite of its question and answer format, this needs careful reading.. Dimitri Shvorob said Useful for beginner audience. Little things like page 101's listing of Windows and .NET as distinct "platforms" (Unix, Linux and "mainframe operating systems" also feature in the list) or page 159's dodgy description of ROLAP make me question the author's hands-on experience with data warehouse implementation. If Mr. Khan has indeed "consulted for major corporations on data warehousing and business intelligence", he must have dealt with "softer" or higher-level matters. The book feels exactly like a book by a consultant or an academi. Five Stars IB Everything went great
