I first picked it up when I was looking for a stand-alone UF book not realizing it was the first in a new series. I picked it up because the premise sounded interesting and because of the blurb by Patricia Briggs Moon Called (Mercy Thompson). I thoroughly enjoyed the first book so I picked up this.
