DESCRIPTION:
Interesting Perspective I've never been a comic book fan, but I've always liked the characters and mythology of comic books. With that said, I'm fully aware of "The Killing Joke" and its impact on Batman's mythology and I found this reading to be insightful, especially when it described the meaning or broader context of the art and story.Quick and good read!. "An amazing book" according to K. Thurman. There has been a lot of clatter recently in regards to Alan Moore's The Killing Joke and what the ending meant. Dr. Darius's examination of the book, and especially the end, make it clear what Moore was doing in the book. Not that the book, overall, is a puzzle, but the ending has left some perplexed for some time. This book will resolve the image into crystal clear for you. Well worth the buy, and read.. "Outstanding lit crit for comics" according to Amazon Customer. I found this to be a great companion piece for The Killing Joke. I discovered it on the Kevin Smith podcast, Fatman on Batman, and picked it up. I spent some quality time with both texts and feel like I learned quite a bit. I would be very interested to do this with more comics as I feel it is a very different experience and adds tremendous depth. Well worth the small price.
