Let me start by saying I have read every book in the Hells Eight series. McCarty is able to truly take these eight men and give them such vastly different stories and vastly different heroines, all of whom allow us to see different aspects of what life was really like for Western Frontier women be it good, horrific, or simply unfortunate." -Romance Books Forum"Sarah McCarty's series is an exciting blend of raw masculinity, spunky, feisty heroines and the wild living in the Old Westwith spicy, hot love scenes. "McCarty is a sparse, minimalistic writer, with a great ear for dialogue. Ms. She's a passionate observer of history, and manages to deftly and accurately weave her spicy stories through with important facts and issues of the epoch she invokes. McCarty gave us small peeks into each member of the Hell's Eight and I'm looking forward to reading the other men's stories." -Erotica Romance Writers"Readers who enjoy erotic romance but haven't found an author who can combine it with a historical setting may discover a new auto-buy

I think Ms. McCarty's first four were from Harlequin's 'Spice' imprint and in my opinion were hotter and just better overall than her last few she's put out. With that being said, this was an okay book, but it just didn't blow me away and at times I didn't even feel like it was a Hell's Eight novel. You do see Caden, who's book was written prior to Ace's. And you also finally get to see more of Luke, who's story will be up next and sadly, last. But the rest of the guy's won't make an appearance until the end, and o. Disappointing Ace’s Wild is the 7th book in the Hell’s Eight series by Sarah McCarty. This is the first book I have read in this series and it can be easily read as a stand-alone novel. This one is about Ace and Petunia. Ace is a Hell’s Eight, working as an assayer and gambling in his spare time. Petunia is working as a school teacher, saving money until she can travel to San Francisco. She wants to open a school catering to all children, not just the fortunate ones. For me, Ace’s Wild was just an okay read. I really didn’t like Ace for the first half of the book and my op. Katie b said Meh at best. I liked the rest of the series, but this one just didn't do it for me. I felt like she just slapped a book together and wrote it as quickly as she could to get it over with. There wasn't as much character development as there was in the other books. It wasn't worth the wait for this one.
